Gastronomy & TU Events
TU and “Umami” gastronomy have always been synonymous! Thus, in such an important wine event, a special cooking scene couldn’t be missing. Three top chefs as well as our brand new TU Canteen will be offering generous tastes in a weekend that cannot be missed!
TU events team proved that, there are no limits and everything is possible, being in the spotlight again and reinforcing what our country produces so successfully, wine!
A tireless team consisting of dozens of young people eager to work, contributed to a “surreal dream” born in November 2016 by the founder George Touratzis, getting formed in just two and half months!
The “Masterclasses”, with Mr. Stelios Boutaris (Ktima Kir Yianni), George Floudas and George Kyriakopoulos, combined with the seminars of Vasilis Galanos and Dimitris Antonopoulos, crowned with success, giving an educational and informative character to the festival, which occurred for the first time at the northernmost point of the country.
Regarding the gastronomic part of the festival three top chefs Feridun Ugumu, Erhan Seker, Chronis Damalas and the TU Canteen distributed generously culinary experiences to all participants.
Like in every TU event, we support the food concentration effort of SOS Children’s Village Thrace. With each entry, each ticket, presence in masterclasses and every dish to our gastronomy events we tried to distribute more children’s smiles!
We are completely satisfied with the result, but also with the fact that young people gave vibrancy to the festival, honored us by traveling from far in order to participate and showed preference to the eponymous Greek wine. An important source of optimism and hope at a time we most probably need it more than ever.
We send our love to those who believed, contributed, worked and helped in order to make Umami Festival 2017, the first Wine and Gastronomy Festival of Thrace.
Countless digital and print media in Greece, Germany, Bulgaria and Turkey, hosted tributes to the festival and helped us reach our message in every corner of our country and abroad.
TU entered dynamically in this field and you can only expect more from us. Get ready since we will soon announce our next project!
Greece’s wine and gastronomy map redesign has already started and you are the most important part of it!
